Packing for Spiekeroog

With one week to go, I started to sort out the gear needed for the seakayaktraining at Spiekeroog. The more stuff you get, the more choices to make. The first is: "which seakayak?" That wasn't difficult: the Valley Pintail (because it's new..). This limits the amount of gear I can take along. The Svalbard has more volume.

I want to travel light. But there are many important things you must take along, and there are so many things that might be useful. First I collect all the gear I could possible use in our guest room. Next few days I am going to select the things I leave at home.
"What to wear?" -> This is one of the new choices: until last year I always used a wetsuit, but now I have also got a drysuit....
"Which tent?"-> The two person Birdland-tunnel, or the Northface solo-shelter I bought some time ago in Berlin? The last one packs smaller and weights the half. But I haven't tried it yet...

pack light?? Ha! I used to drive a car, then I got into kayaking. . .

These days the first half day of a class is just me explaining all my gear! The second half is me fitting in all into my kayak, by then everyone's off the water and I have to unpack it all again.

Have a great time!!

Goed, de kajak valt af als hobby voor mij (ik word gek van de rommel als ik naar jouw foto kijk). Heb wel belangstelling voor de tentjes. Heb je van beide tentjes de specificaties?

Groet,

Susanne

Hi Derrick!

I used to drive a motorcycle...

But it doesn't make any difference; nowadays all the coaches put so much gear in their kayaks... I am no exception on that!

Hi Suus!
When you put all the gear in a kayak and close the hatches: you don't see anything of the chaos...
About the tents:
1. Birdland Nova (www.birdland.nl, the Nova is a crossover of the Novelle and the Supernova).
2. The North Face Canyonlands (out of production: make a Google search for info)
